He is probably best known for owning the famous bar in Fairbanks, the Blue Loon. They discuss his time in the legislature, current issues facing Alaska, including the budget that just came out, his history in Fairbanks, and some of the acts he has had at the Blue Loon over the years that have included Snoop Dogg and Bill Maher.

Jeff was very excited to be joined by Alaska legend Clem Tillion. Clem was elected to the third Alaska Legislature in 1962. He served in both the House and Senate, and also served as Senate President. He came to Alaska in 1947 after fighting in World War II. They discuss his history in Alaska, including his time in the legislature. They also discuss his history of supporting the permanent fund and his current involvement in defending the PFD. Clem is one of a kind. If you like Alaska history and politics, this is a must listen.

Jeff was joined by Vince Beltrami. Vince is the President of the Alaska AFL-CIO. They discuss his history and involvement with the AFL-CIO, his involvement in Alaska politics, and what he is doing in Juneau this week. They also discuss his run for the State Senate in 2016. The podcast was recorded in Jeffs's room in the Driftwood Hotel in Juneau. The people staying in the room above got very loose, and rude, during the recording. Jeff was joined by John Sturgeon. They discuss his well known case that has gone all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. Sturgeon was told by federal park rangers in 2007 that he was not allowed to use his hovercraft on a navigable waterway through a national park. After an extensive process of trying to challenge that, he eventually took the case to court. Sturgeon has become something of an icon in Alaska for challenging the federal government on land use.

He joined the Army after 9/11 and served two tours in Iraq. He was injured on his second tour and was awarded the Purple Heart. They discuss his time in the military, his work for Senator Dan Sullivan and Congressman Don Young, and his decision to run for the State House.
